Leamington & Warwick Sub-Aqua Club is a SCUBA diving and snorkelling club open to everyone.
We are a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) and have been diving together since 1957 – over 70 years now.
We have around 50 members, a mixture of new and experienced divers as well as experienced instructors.
We are a very active teaching club. Both novice and experienced divers and snorkellers are encouraged to do as much training as they wish.
Members organise training and non-training dives throughout the season for a full range ability and interests.
We welcome new members, if you are interested in seeing what we do, please get in touch with one of our committee. Alternatively come along to a club night — we meet every Wednesday evening at the clubhouse on Adelaide Road.
The main sports diving season generally starts around March and ends around November. Typically we dive the third weekend every month in stoney cove, which is only 45 minutes drive from Leamington. It’s a great way to get some practice and training in before going on one of our multiple UK and international dive trips per year.
The coastline of the British Isles has a lot to offer in terms of marine life and ship wrecks all making for an interesting underwater experience.
Special courses are often arranged during the year, e.g. life-saving, defibrillator operation, oxygen administration etc. As members of BSAC you can take other courses throughout the country, though they are often run within the branch or in conjunction with other local branches.
Our clubhouse, on the edge of Victoria Park in central Leamington Spa, has ample parking. Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre, five minutes’ drive away, is hired weekly to practise skills, run confined-water training, and hold try dive, refresher and snorkelling sessions.
The clubhouse also has a classroom for BSAC diver training theory at all levels, plus dive briefs and specialist talks.
In 2020 we bought a new compressor. Members can get air fills of up to 232 bar on site.
We keep a stock of club equipment for both confined and open water training, including drysuits in a range of sizes. This means you can dive with us without the expense of buying and servicing your own equipment.
Members meet every Wednesday evening. We start at the clubhouse at about 7:00pm, then move to the pool at 8:00pm. Come along and introduce yourself.
